Overview
The Astore District is situated in a region surrounded by various neighboring districts. To the north, it shares its boundaries with the Gilgit District, while the Roundup District lies to the northeast. In the east, the district is adjacent to the Skardu District, and to the southeast, it is bordered by the Kharmang District. To the west, it shares its boundaries with the Diamer District.
The southwestern border of Astore District adjoins the Neelum District of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and to the south, it is adjacent to the Bandipora District in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir.
